Transforming Wounds Into Wisdom

One of the most common questions I get asked is:

Why did you decide to become a life coach?

The answer goes all the way back to my childhood.

Growing up, my stepfather was both mentally and emotionally abusive, so much so that it left me struggling with severe depression and multiple suicide attempts throughout my teens and early twenties. I was prescribed different medications and at one point the topic of my being committed to a psychiatric ward was broached.

I was so lost and so hurt.

I didn’t have a clear understanding of what was happening in my life, what I wanted to happen in my life, and how I could create that change.

All I knew for sure was that I didn’t want to be in pain anymore.

Without the proper tools or skills to address everything that was going on, I did the only thing I knew how to. I took all that anger, despair, confusion, and frustration, and I put it in a box.

I hid those feelings deep down within myself, and pretended they didn’t exist. As you’ve probably already guessed, that didn’t work out too well. In fact, to be completely honest, it only made things worse.

I was genuinely afraid that my depression was going to kill me.

It was at that point that I began working with an absolutely amazing human who supported me as a guide, mentor, teacher, and coach. Over the course of a year and a half, he helped me with shifting my trajectory and focusing on learning everything I could about myself, my mind, my thoughts, my emotions, my body, and my spirituality.

I explored methods of trauma recovery and began to process the overwhelming negative emotions that I’d been ignoring from my childhood. I filled my days, practicing different methods of meditation, mindfulness, and healing techniques.

My hard work and perseverance paid off and I came to truly understand and believe that I am infinitely worthy and deserving of  a life of peace, ease, contentment, and joy.

Now, I consciously respond rather than unconsciously react to the world and my life circumstances.

I’ve replaced the mean critic in my head with an empowering inner-nurturer.

I’ve cultivated love for myself as well as an unshakable authentic confidence in the person I am today.

And, I want to help you too.

I love being able to assist my clients with developing the confidence to move through the world with ease, empowering them to reach for their dreams, and feeling aligned with their authentic self.

I love helping them get rid of the things that are causing them pain, holding them back, and no longer serving them.

If you’d like to chat, or learn more about what it looks like to work with me, let me know!

Sending love your way!
