Want to Create Change in Your Life? Step Out of Your Comfort Zone!

You cannot swim for new horizons, until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore – William Faulkner

This has always been one of my favorite quotes, because it so clearly states one of the most common struggles so many of us face on a daily basis, both personally and professionally:

Fear of Change & Fear of the Unknown.

We often opt to stay comfortable by continuing to invest our time, energy, and attention into people, situations, and things that no longer serve us or make us happy.

We tend to be afraid of challenging the norm.

In fact, more often than not, these influences are not only just the same old, boring status-quo, but they’re actively making us unhappy.

But, instead of saying goodbye and exploring the unknown, we fearfully hold firm to what we already know.

This week, I urge you to challenge yourself:

  • Take a few moments to jot down a list of the people, situations, or things in your life that are making you feel stuck and are holding you back from pursuing something more for yourself and your life.

  • Articulate how these factors are holding you back, as well as why you’re currently choosing to maintain the relationship or connection you have with these people, situations, or things.

  • Finally, write down what your life could look like if you were to let go of these people, situations, or things. Describe how it would feel, to no longer be stuck or trapped but to have novelty, excitement, and the freedom to grow and evolve as a person.

The simple act of writing these things down can often help us to notice patterns, not only of who or what is holding us back, but the reasons for why we’re allowing ourselves to remain stuck, stagnant and without growth.

Chances are, it’s because these people, situations, and things exist within your comfort zone (the devil you know, ya know?).

Remember: Everything that is in your life right now is there because you allow it to be!

It can be scary and uncomfortable, opening ourselves up to the prospect of exploring something new and different.

Consider what a relief it will be to release the weight of the baggage that is no longer serving you, or making you happy. Consider how inspiring, freeing, and fulfilling it will be to consciously create the life you desire.

You don’t need to release that baggage and step into the unknown alone.

That’s where I come in!

As a Coach, I help my clients to explore outside their comfort zone and release the baggage that’s been holding them back.

The first step is recognizing that it’s time for a change. The second step is committing to making that change.

I’m here to help you achieve your goals once you commit to stepping outside of your comfort zone and exploring the great unknown – the limitless possibilities available to you, the new people, situations, and things that are waiting to serve you, and bring you joy.

Practice courage, step out of your comfort zone, and change your life for the better!

So, tell me, are you ready?

Sending love your way!
